Tax Agents

Registered tax agents are the only business service providers with right to charge a fee to prepare income tax returns and objections; and to transact business on behalf of taxpayers in income tax matters. They must maintain a high level of skill and responsibilities, including:

• The preparation of tax returns honestly and competently

• Maintaining up to date with changes in taxation laws and practice

• Perform professionally in dealing with clients and the ATO; and

• Continue to meet the tax agent registration requirements
